0 Our shopper was highly impressed by the standard of tidiness at this bright and spacious Asda. The aisles were free from shelf stackers and packing trolleys and staff were polite and quick to help. The store was well-merchandised and stocked and all 33 items were available. Signage was clear and there were plenty of cut-price offers. Our shopper also enjoyed the in-store tea room. Twelve of the 22 checkouts were operating, which was sufficient.

morrisons Stamford, Lincolnshire



0 Mangoes were not sold individually at this huge store - only two packs were available - but all the other items were easily found. It was clean and orderly and there were no obvious gaps on shelves. Staff were attentive and keen to help and the checkout staff were working fast to process the queues. The promotional areas were clearly signed and well-stocked. Our shopper's only gripe was about the excessively big trolleys, which were difficult to handle.

sainsbury's Harrogate, North Yorkshire



0 Staff were coping extremely well with the huge number of shoppers at this large Sainsbury's branch. Workers on the sales floor were interacting politely with shoppers and shelves were being topped up where gaps were emerging. A full basket was provided and the store interior was spotlessly clean with neat displays. The fresh produce looked to be good quality and there were bogof deals and half-price offers across the store. All 29 checkouts were operating.

tesco Aberdeen



1 It was 6.55am when our shopper visited this Tesco Extra store and only two of the 37 checkouts were operating. This was not enough and she had to queue for a long time. The required size of Doritos were out of stock but the store was perfectly clean and tidy. The aisles were busy with shelf stackers but they did not hinder our shopper's progress around the store and were very friendly. However, the receipt contained three inaccurately priced items.

waitrose Finchley Road, London



1 The attractively displayed meat counter caught our shopper's eye and two members of staff guided him to the location of certain products. The shelves were well-stocked but the sausage rolls were sold out and the required size of ice cream was not stocked. The fruit and veg section was being replenished, which created some trolley congestion, but staff did their best to keep out of the way.
