Aussie beer and wine group Lion Nathan has signed a joint venture agreement with Bacardi-Martini to market, sell and distribute a range of ready-to-drink and spirits brands in Australia.
The new venture named Bacardi Lion is set to start trading within two months and involve Bacardi-Martini's Quality Brands International unit and Lion Nathan's ready-to-drink business unit Indio.
The move will see QBI brands such as Bacardi Carta Blanca, Bombay Sapphire Gin and Dewar's Whisky being distributed by Bacardi Lion, as well as Lion's Bacardi Breezer, Bacardi, Citro and Kentucky Rebel.
All of the ready-to-drink products will continue to be made in Adelaide by Lion Nathan, in which Japan's Kirin Brewery has a 45% stake, Lion Nathan said in a statement.
