Diageo is trialling two new flavours of Baileys Irish Cream, The Grocer can reveal.
From this month, Baileys with a hint of Mint Chocolate and Baileys with a hint of Crème Caramel will be available exclusively with BAA’s retail division, World Duty Free (WDF).
Both flavours are bottled at 17% abv and priced at £11.99 each or two one-litre bottles for £20, and will be sold at WDF’s 67 UK airport stores for a trial period of six months.
WDF managing director Mark Riches said: “We are thrilled that Baileys has recognised the enormous power of WDF by choosing to launch two new flavours in its stores.
“We are confident that with 10 million passengers passing through BAA airports every month, we will offer incredible exposure for these exciting new flavours.”
BAA operates seven UK airports: London Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Southampton, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
Baileys is the most popular liqueur in duty-free and travel-retail with global sales of more than 500,000 cases in 2003, according to the International Wine & Spirit Record.
