Baileys is to roll out a limited edition Red Velvet Cupcake flavour of its Irish Cream Liqueur this month.
The drink (17% abv) is billed as tasting “like fresh chocolate cake with a dollop of cream cheese frosting and just a hint of cocoa powder”, with the brand suggesting it be served on its own or over ice.
It rolls out from mid-January (rsp: £16/700ml).
It’s the latest in a series of limited edition flavours from the Diageo-owned brand. In 2016 it added a Pumpkin Spice flavour for Halloween, while 2018 saw the launch of Strawberries & Cream Baileys, which returned in the summer of 2019.
However, sales of Baileys Original have fallen in the supermarkets over the past year, dropping 2.3% to £106.3m [Nielsen 52 w/e 7 September 2019].
