Bargain Booze has opened its first Select Convenience store in Kent as part of “ambitious expansion plans” to push into the south.
The 1,400 sq ft store in Ramsgate – which formerly traded as a Budgens – is the first to open under the Bargain Booze fascia in the region.
“Strong competition in the local area meant that we were seeking a point of difference for the store on the high street,” said store owner Annabel Duplessis.
“Launching as Bargain Booze Select Convenience means that we can continue to provide our customers with the groceries they expect from us, whilst also offering exceptionally good value and a destination alcohol assortment.
“The package offered to franchisees is very attractive, including shares and a bonus scheme,” she added.
Keith Webb, franchise director at Conviviality Retail, added: “We are unrivalled for our alcohol proposition but along with a growing grocery selection, we provide retailers with all the tools they need to maximise their existing skills and passion for retailing.”
Bargain Booze, which has a strong foothold in the north west, said the Ramsgate store opening marked “the first step” in the company’s plans to expand into the south of England.
