Premium brand food manufacturer Baxters is to open two stores in Scotland this year in a drive to become a "major retailer in tourist destinations".
The first store will open at the new Ocean Terminal shopping centre in Edinburgh in early summer. Details of the second store remain under wraps.
The Edinburgh store will occupy 8,000 sq ft on two connecting floors, including a deli market and hamper shop, and a Baxters Cookshop. A selection of Scottish crafts and gifts, a themed whisky tasting area and a 50-seat restaurant will be included. Cashmeres and clothing will also be on sale.
Baxters already has a show outlet in its Highland Village at Fochabers in Morayshire.
Chief executive Audrey Baxter said: "There is enormous opportunity for us to capitalise on our experience to extend our brand proposition into other arenas. If we choose our partners well we can maximise the potential and reach of the Baxters brand without compromising our values."
