Beavertown Brewery is entering the low & no category with a ‘super session’ IPA.
The brew, called Nanobot, rings in at 2.8% abv, and is billed as a “pint-sized powerhouse”, made with Sabro and Simcoe hops, which Beavertown said gave it “punchy citrus and juicy tropical top notes”.
It joines the brewer’s core range this week, rolling into 230 Sainsbury’s from 2 May (rsp: £1.90/330ml). It will also be sold through the brand’s online shop.
Oats and wheat in the brew for a ”fuller, richer mouthfeel” meant “you get a drinking experience like that of a regular 5% IPA” said the brand.
The beer packs considerably fewer calories than its stablemates, coming in at 97kcal per can.
Beavertown founder Logan Plant said choosing a low-abv or low-calorie beer often came “at the expense of something else”.
“We want to remedy that with Nanobot,” he said.
