Belvoir Farm is launching a range of ‘botanical sodas’ designed to tap the low & no boom.
Three flavours – Floral Fizz, Bitter Orange Spritz and Spicy Ginger Fizz – will roll into Ocado on 20 February (rsp: £2.25/500ml).
Floral Fizz and Bitter Orange Spritz will also roll into 400 Sainsbury’s stores.
Inspired by nature and “bubbling with botanical character”, the drinks delivered “a healthier hit of hydration”, claimed the brand, with less than 4.5g of sugar and fewer than 20 calories per 100ml.
They combined “botanical-rich and hand-stirred base syrups” with sparkling spring water to create “the perfect replacement for alcohol without compromising taste”, it added.
Belvoir Farm worked with the Chelsea Physic Garden to create the drinks, which are vegan and contain no preservatives, artificial colours or sweeteners.
They would bring something “deliciously different” to the adult soft drinks category, it said.
It comes after the upmarket soft drinks brand last year unveiled a new look designed to shake off its “classical and a bit old-fashioned” image and appeal to a new generation of shoppers, its MD Peverel Manners told The Grocer.
William Reed – the publisher of The Grocer – runs a trade show exclusively for the low & non-alcoholic drinks industry. For more information visit low2nobev.com
