Beneforté broccoli produces higher levels of cancer-fighting glucoraphanin than other varieties, new research has shown.

The broccoli - developed by the Institute of Food Research and the John Innes Centre - consistently produced two to three times more glucoraphanin in field trials conducted over a three-year period across different locations in Europe and the US.

It is sold in Asda and Marks & Spencer.
