Mars Food & Nutrition has added 14 ambient ready meals across its Ben’s Original and Dolmio brands.
Three new HFSS-compliant ranges – Ben’s Street Food, Dolmio Classics and Dolmio Feasts – have hit shelves, all with an rsp of £3 for a 250g meal pouch.
Described as a “globally inspired noodle and veg range”, Ben’s Street Food has debuted with Chow Mein Style, Teriyaki Style, Thai Style Stir Fry, Korean BBQ Style, Singapore Style and Spicy Indonesian Style.
Dolmio Classics, a selection of “all-in-one” pasta meals featuring the brand’s signature sauces, has launched with Meatballs Fusilli, Carbonara Fusilli, Prosciutto Tortellini and Bolognese Rigatoni.
Finally, Dolmio Feasts, a range of “indulgent, creamy” pasta dishes for one, has debuted with Spicy Chorizo Fusilli, Cheesy Mac & Cheese, Garlic & Chicken Rigatoni, and Spicy Mac & Cheese.
The new meals have launched into Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Iceland, with wider distribution to follow.
They built on the success of Ben’s Original Favourites and Lunch Bowls, which hit Tesco shelves in July, taking Mars Food & Nutrition’s total ambient ready meal portfolio to 27 products ”all designed to deliver convenience without compromising on taste or quality”.
The business is planning further NPD and range extensions over the next two years with an ambition of reshaping the ready meals landscape.
“We are building a multi-year pipeline across our two biggest brands to unlock enormous category growth potential,” said Mars Food & Nutrition UK GM Nick Reade.
“People are looking for meals that fit into their busy lifestyles and our expanded range caters to all occasions and tastes – whether it’s a quick lunch, a comforting dinner, or a globally inspired meal on the go. But crucially, convenience shouldn’t come at the cost of nutrition.”
