Britain’s oldest wine merchant Berry Bros & Rudd is launching its own brand of “accessible” wines
The new Wine Merchant range, including Traditional Claret, English Sparkling, Pauillac, Rioja Crianza and Champagne 1er Cru varieties, will roll out across the off-trade through Fields, Morris & Verdin over the next two months. Eleven wines are already available, with a further five to follow in June (rsp: £7.95-£24.95).
Berry Bros & Rudd said the new range would provide “greater accessibility” than its existing own brand of wines.
“Our Berry Bros & Rudd Own Selection of wines is incredibly popular with our customers, and we wanted to offer something a bit more accessible,” added buying director Abi Hirshfeld.
“We have benefited from the centuries-old relationships with our suppliers and created a range of wines we believe is superior and trustworthy.”
