Bibby Distribution has won a new warehousing and distribution contract to handle Lavazza’s UK foodservice business.

The 12-month deal will see the company’s Stoke-on-Trent warehouse supply several thousand customers, including chains, coffee shops, bars, restaurants and professional caterers.

In addition to coffee, the company will deliver biscuits, chocolates, branded crockery and promotional materials.

Orders will be electronically sent from Lavazza’s IT system directly to Bibby’s warehouse management system, which will help cut order lead times to three days.

Lavazza will also have access to full online stock visibility and automated reports of orders.
