Birds Eye peas will return to TV for the first time in five years with a new ad featuring the voice of actor Patsy Kensit.
The ad, which highlights the “love and care” that goes into creating Birds Eye peas by following the tale of a farmer, comes 43 years after Kensit made her debut on British screens for the brand’s Peas Go Pop ad.
Hitting screens on 24 October, it forms part of a £4m push for Birds Eye Garden Peas and Petit Pois over the next year.
Birds Eye is also rolling out new pack designs showing the story of its peas from “seed to plate” from November, the brand said.
“The campaign, which forms part of our new product-focused marketing strategy, aims to communicate the expertise, quality and care that goes into all our peas,” said Steve Chantry, Birds Eye UK MD.
“We hope that consumers will forge an emotional connection to the process and realise that it requires hours of love, care and attention to produce peas of the highest taste and quality.”
