Black Sheep coffee has launched what it claims is the UK’s first 100% fine Robusta bean coffee.
Fine coffee is usually made from Arabica, but Robusta Revival contains Robusta beans ethically sourced from the Sethuraman Estate in India (rsp: £7.90/227g bag of ground or bean).
Robusta beans were less acidic and contained about twice the caffeine of Arabica, said the London-based supplier. “There are so many people who have never had the chance to taste a 100% Robusta product,” said co-founder Gabe Shohet, adding that the coffee had received a lot of interest from retailers.
Black Sheep also plans to launch a Blue Mountain coffee from Papua New Guinea.
