The Gaymer Cider Company has appeased disgruntled cider drinkers in the south west by returning original Dry Blackthorn to retailers.
The Somerset cider maker relaunched Blackthorn 12 months ago with revamped packaging, reduced alcohol content and a sweeter flavour.
The move outraged fans in the cider heartlands of the south west of England and prompted a Facebook campaign to restore the original recipe.
As a result, Dry Blackthorn will be available in 500ml cans from retailers across the south west region from March 26.
"We underestimated the passion people in the south west have for Dry Blackthorn and have been bowled over by their determination to get their favourite cider back," said Gaymer managing director Peter Spencer.
