Spar wholesaler AF Blakemore has boosted its presence in Wales with the acquisition of Bangor based cash and carry John Edwards. The deal comes hot on the heels of September's purchase of Newport-based I Mogford & Sons, taking Blakemore's C&C estate to up to eight and pushing annual turnover beyond the £500m mark. Currently John Edwards turns over £12.5m a year from 5,000 customers in north Wales. In the next few months, Blakemore will be installing its own computer systems and integrating the business into its wider operation, said sales and marketing manager Chris Rose. {{NEWS }}
