Blakemore Retail has opened its second coffee shop in partnership with the Insomnia Coffee Company.
The new unit, next door to the Spar Thurcroft store in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, comes two years after the pair opened an Insomnia franchise at a new flagship petrol forecourt store in Laceby, Lincolnshire.
The new unit offers a selection of fresh coffees and cakes, as well as breakfast and lunch sandwich options.
It has created jobs for six new members of staff and offers indoor and outdoor seating for 35 customers.
Fresh coffee, cakes and sandwiches will be available in store from 7am-6pm Monday to Saturday, and 8am-5pm on Sunday.
Blakemore said it planned to develop further stores with Insomnia.
Matt Teague, Blakemore retail fresh & foodservice development director, said: “In line with our foodservice development plans, adding the Insomnia coffee shop to the already successful Spar, Greggs and Subway stores has created another dimension to our Thurcroft store location, where we have generated an exciting shopping experience and a fantastic hub of choice for shoppers in the local community and surrounding areas.”
Insomnia also has numerous partnerships with Spar and Eurospar stores serviced by other wholesalers in the UK and Republic of Ireland. Other partners include Primark, Debenhams, Compass Catering, Maxol, Eason, Meadows & Byrne and Heatons.
The business has more than 140 coffee shops and more than 300 self-service units.
