Blakemore Wholesale Distribution has won a contract to supply 220 Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) stores.
The five-year-contract, which began last week, will see Blakemore take over the supply of grocery, impulse, chilled and frozen food and drink for RVS hospital shops across Britain.
“We are delighted to have secured this contract to supply Royal Voluntary Service,” said Blakemore Wholesale distribution sales director Raj Krishan.
“Blakemore Wholesale Distribution has created a bespoke, flexible service plan utilising the full Blakemore network and its expertise to deliver a comprehensive range and support package that also delivers great value. AF Blakemore is a family business committed to supporting good causes in local communities, and we believe that Royal Voluntary Service is a great fit for our company values.”
RVS, the biggest hospital retailer in England, Scotland and Wales, recently launched a new store format called Shop & Co designed to accommodate new government healthy eating criteria for hospitals in Scotland.
The first Shop & Co store opened in Hairmyres Hospital, East Kilbride, last month.
