Blakemore Wholesale has opened its first premium Bmorelocal store format.
The new store, in Annitsford, Northumberland, brings total store numbers to four and Blakemore told The Grocer it is on track to meet its 30-store target by the end of the financial year.
Owned by former Lifestyle Express retailer Gary Bajwa, the 700 sq ft store features an ATM, PayPoint and Lottery alongside new chillers stocking fresh food, soft drinks, wine and beer.
“When I decided to open another store I wanted something new and fresh, but felt the regular symbol fascias were becoming a bit stale,” said Bajwa.
“When I saw the new Bmorelocal concept I knew this was what I was looking for, that it would give me a point of difference from other local convenience stores and give my business the support and partnership I expect and need from my wholesaler.
The Bmorelocal fascia offers retailers a full symbol group package including chilled, frozen, EPoS, food to go and drop shipments. To join, retailers must commit to a spend loyalty, tier one allocations and guaranteed promotional execution.
“Significant investment has been made in the store and I look forward to providing a great service to the local community, offering excellent value, range and promotions, giving an overall great shopping experience,” said Bajwa.
