Tesco's flagship 100,000 sq ft Extra store in Sandhurst, Surrey, is closed until October following a mystery blaze which gutted its warehouse last week. Fifty staff and 12 customers were evacuated from the store when the fire broke out at 2am on Thursday August 1. Firefighters tackled the warehouse inferno for two hours. The store itself escaped the fire although it was damaged by water and smoke.
Tesco's on site petrol station has now reopened, but it will take eight weeks to refurbish the store.
Police and the fire brigade are investing the cause of the blaze.
