The Blue Belle potato has returned to Asda stores this week for a second year, as part of the retailer’s Extra Special range.
The variety, grown by Agrimarc, has a white skin flecked with purple. Available for a limited period, it is being sold in 2kg packs, rsp £1.48. It is being marketed as ideal for baking, boiling and roasting.
The Blue Belle has a dramatic appearance and an excellent taste and flavour, according to Agrimarc MD Mark Taylor. “Our innovation programme has yet again produced an exciting variety,” he said.
