Bob the Builder has been enlisted to help encourage young children to eat Cheddar.
The Good Food Village has developed Secret Shapes, a 100% natural Somerset farm-made Cheddar - sliced for convenience - with an imprint of Bob the Builder running through it, or one of his pals - Wendy, Roley or Travis. The outside edges peel away to reveal an edible shape in the middle. The product is targeted at children aged one to six, for snacks, sandwiches and lunchboxes.
"We believe that partnering parents is the key to helping develop healthy eating habits at an early age," said Louise Rutten, founder of the Good Food Village. "We want to help create a lifetime of associations and memories for generations to come."
Each slice (approximately 30g) contains more than 60% of the recommended intake of calcium for infants and toddlers. Secret Shapes is priced £1.69 for seven slices and will be supported by sampling and price promotions this summer.
