Interbrew has issued a recall of Boddingtons Draught bitter in 24-can shrinkwrapped packs due to possible contamination with cleaning fluids.
The cans, with the batch code L2 302R and an August 2003 expiry date, may contain fluid used during the brewing process to clean the inside of beer storage tanks.
Although the contamination does not represent any threat to public health, the product is being withdrawn for quality reasons as it is likely to smell and taste unpleasant, said the brewer.
