Top-selling conserve Bonne Maman is to show off its French roots by sponsoring a new Channel 4 documentary series called French Leave, its first foray onto British TV. The £280,000 deal, struck between the channel and the jam brand’s UK importer Andros, will see Bonne Maman on screen from late September.
The 10-episode run follows the story of Michelin chef John Burton Race and his family as they up sticks from England and settle in a farmhouse in south-west France for a year. Andros said it believed the tie-up was the ideal tool to expand its target audience.
Bonne Maman jars, with their distinctive red checked lids, will play a key role in the idents each side of commercial breaks. An on-pack promotion is also planned.
