Booker has doubled the size of the chilled warehouse at its Hatfield distribution centre to 40,000 sq ft.
The wholesaler said the extension, which cost £500,000 and will create 50 jobs, would allow it to deliver the freshest possible products to its customers.
The warehouse has also been fitted with low-energy lighting that reduces power consumption by 60%.
"Chilled sales are growing at over 20% in Booker so it was essential that we improved the facilities at Hatfield to ensure we continue to increase our choice of products," said CEO Charles Wilson.
