Booker

Booker has launched a new employee network to support staff with disabilities.

The Disability Colleague Network is the fourth of its kind run by the wholesale giant, and aims to provide a space for disabled colleagues and allies to share experiences, activities and knowledge.

It will be led by area manager Brendan Diskin, and Booker is currently in the process of appointing a new steering committee.

It will run alongside Women@Booker as well as two groups that were founded last September: Race & Ethnicity and LGBTQ+.

“It’s very important we make these spaces accessible and inspiring to all our colleagues,” Booker learning and development partner Charlie Holmes told the Diversity in Wholesale conference in London this week.

“It’s also key that groups remain welcoming to allies. Booker is focused on assessing and improving allyship, which we define as actively promoting and aspiring to advance the culture of inclusion through intentional, positive and conscious efforts that benefit people as a whole.”
