Booths has opened its 30th store, in Barrowford, Lancashire.
The 9,000 sq ft store has created 60 new jobs. It will be managed by Dean Gibson, who has risen through the ranks of the Booths Management Trainee Programme since joining the company 14 years ago at the age of 16.
The new store has a café and fresh food counters, including a butcher, fishmonger, delicatessen, hot food and cheesemonger.
It was opened by members of the Booth family – property director Graham Booth; director Simon Booth; and specialist manager Henry Booth – as well as local suppliers.
“I’m delighted to open Booths in Barrowford,” Graham Booth said.
“Booths is a food retailer like no other—proudly Northern, family run and independent. Our regional roots and relative small size help to forge close relationships with our farmers and producers.
“We are proud to have developed strong relationships with many Lancashire farmers and producers, many of whom have been supplying our stores for decades and it means a great deal that some have joined us in celebrating the opening of our 30th store,” he added.
