Boughey Distribution has appointed Angela Carus as its new managing director.
She takes over from Keith Forster, who recently retired after 20 years at the company.
Carus has joined the company from Culina, where she had been director of operations for the past two-and-a-half years.
Carus started in the logistics sector shortly after leaving school as a warehouse picker for Wincanton, before working her way up to hold a variety of senior positions.
She has previously worked for companies including Gist, Kuehne + Nagel, XPO and NYK Logistics.
“I am extremely fortunate to have joined a successful business in excellent shape,” said Carus. “We have a talented team of people here who are passionate and proud of the business they’re part of.
“Our people, a substantial number with long service records, are the company’s most important asset and what really stands out is the family feel of the business which, for a company with a turnover of £62m, is a real asset.”
Carus pledged to address environmental concerns as a key priority.
“Caring for the environment, our energy use and working on sustainability are all top of my agenda. We want to be one of the industry leaders in environmental responsibility. We are exploring a number of areas to how and where we can improve our carbon impact.”
