Growing demand for Brakspear's beers has led the Henley company to spend £750,000 on expanding its capacity.
While elsewhere in the industry there is overcapacity and breweries face closure, demand for Brakspear's ales continues to increase.
It has a strong on-trade following in southern England which has benefited from a distribution agreement with Scottish Courage. It has also been developing its off-trade business, where its brands are handled by Wychwood.
The brewery is running at full stretch at peak periods. This investment will increase its capacity by 25%.
One of Brakspear's latest introductions was an organic ale called Naturale. The beer was well liked but it has found it difficult to win listings. Some of the major off-trade buyers were not impressed by the packaging of the 330ml bottle.
