Potato supplier Branston has launched a potato brand called Nanna Tate.
Nanna Tate fresh potatoes will launch from 30 December in 450 Tesco stores across the UK.
The supplier said the new brand would build on its over 50 years of potato expertise, “adding a modern twist while tapping into the enduring love that us Brits have for the humble spud”.
Nanna Tate potatoes have been selected to create “creamy mash, fluffy roasties and crispy chips every time”.
The packaging is designed to be eye-catching in the potato fixture, supported by online content to offer inspiration.
“Christmas is traditionally a time when people rediscover their love for potatoes – especially roasties – so we hope that launching Nanna Tate straight after will keep that passion alive well after the festive season,” said Lucia Washbrook, sales & marketing director at Nanna Tate.
The fresh potato launch will be followed by a rollout of the Nanna Tate prepared potato range from February 2025.
Nanna Tate ready-to-cook dishes were designed to “take the faff out” of potato prep and deliver excellent results every time, Branston said.
“Nanna Tate aims to inspire modern mealtimes, bringing people together round the table to make new happy memories,” said Washbrook. “So that’s where our potato expertise comes in – making potatoes the star of the show so people can enjoy those moments in the here and now.”
