The growing strength of Kronenbourg 1664 has been highlighted in Scottish and Newcastle's interim results.
In July the company formed a partnership with Danone's Kronenbourg beer business.
Chairman Brian Stewart said volume sales of Kronenbourg grew by 23%.
S&N's pretax profit was up 8% to £241m on turnover up 28% to £2.1bn. Operating profit from its beer business increased 40%, but the gloss was taken off by a poor performance by its pubs.
Stewart said the severe weather in November affected sales and added: "The performance of the on-trade continues to be below our expectations."
During the period advertising on key brands including Foster's and John Smith's increased 13%.
