Longwell Green, a small suburb in Bristol, is Britain’s sprout-eating capital for the second year running, according to sales figures compiled by Asda. Norwich took second place followed by West Bridgford in Nottingham.
On average the local residents in Longwell Green eat 80,000 sprouts a week, which is equivalent to 11 sprouts per person in the town.
Asda’s general store manager for the areas, Michael Jarrett, said: “Brussels really are a way of life down here - I wouldn’t have a meal without them!”
