British Lion eggs will return to TV screens in the new year with its first major ad campaign in a decade.
The three-month push features TV ads directed 10 years ago by Tom Hooper, who went on to win an Oscar for The King’s Speech. The ads have been updated with a new voiceover as part of a £1.5m marketing spend for 2015 that encourages consumers to use eggs to ‘make a meal out of anything’ left in the fridge.
“The focus on using up leftovers is as relevant to budget-conscious consumers now as it was when the ad first appeared,” said British Egg Industry Council chairman Andrew Joret.
The ads will air on ITV, Channel 4 and Sky from January 5.
