A former Golden Wonder executive who set up a rival company selling crisps to expat Brits wants to bring the range back home to Blighty.
Jennie Kelly launched a seven-strong Britz range at the end of last year and has already found a market in 23 countries worldwide, including Canada, Japan, Hong Kong and Dubai.
And the company, operating under the name Phoenix, hopes to net first year sales of £250,000 from exports and expand the range even further, possibly even into nuts and potted hot snacks.
Kelly also wants to sell the
Britz range in the UK following requests from customers.
A former export manager at Golden Wonder, Kelly said Britz had a 26-week shelf life and contained full flavour versions of popular favourites, including Salt & Vinegar, Cheese & Onion and Prawn Cocktail.
The range is made under licence by own label snacks specialist Kolak Snack Foods.
Rsp for a 34.5g bag in the UK would be around 28p.
