Waverley Wines & Spirits has announced the appointment of Colin Brook-Jones to the newly created role of national independents manager.
Brook-Jones will be spearheading a thrust into the cash and carry, wholesale and independent sector.
He commented: "I will be responsible for developing strategies and marketing plans for each of these three areas".
Brook-Jones said his main focus would be Waverley products, but added that he was also looking to push distribution and sales of Montana and Berenger Blass brands.
"The key challenge over the next year will be to develop sales of Waverley brands with large operators such as Makro, T&S and Alldays.
"We are looking to gain a foothold in those stores."
Brook-Jones was previously Waverley Group commercial manager. Before that he was national account manager at Bibendum from 1999-2001 and national account manager, BRL Hardy, between 1994 and 1999.
