Brooklyn Brewery has launched its first mixed-beer multipack into Asda and Ocado.
Called Mixtape Volume 1, it contains 12 cans across the brand’s core range; Brooklyn Lager (5.2% abv), American Ale (4.5% abv), Brooklyn East IPA (6.9% abv) and Scorcher IPA (4.5% abv). It carries an rsp of £19.40.
The beers were “designed to pair beautifully with food”, said Brooklyn, “from the standard pizza and burger options to a wide array of spicy foods, strong cheeses and grilled meats”.
The launch comes as sales of Brooklyn, which is distributed in the UK by Carlsberg, are on the up. Its lager alone grew value sales by 46.2% (£1.39m) to £4.4m last year [Nielsen 52 w/e 9 September 2017].
The brand helped deliver a strong performance for Carlsberg’s speciality and non-alcoholic beers division, global volumes of which surged over the past year - though Carlsberg’s total UK volumes fell 6%.
Meanwhile London Fields Brewery, which was acquired by Carlsberg last year and is operated as a joint venture between Carlsberg and Brooklyn, is planning its own push into the mults this year with the upcoming launch of a four-strong core range in cans.
