The former managing director of high street retailer Wilkinson, Gordon Brown, has been appointed chairman of 99p Stores.
Brown said he was planning to take 99p Stores to the “next level” and ensure its continued growth.
“More than 35% of our clients are so-called affluent,” he said. “We want everyone to recognise the great value 99p Stores offers by connecting with all sectors of society.”
99p Stores co-founder and CEO Nadir Lalani added: “Gordon’s expertise is just what we need as we aim to double our stores and market share within the next 18 months.”
