Budgens has launched a new premium own-brand ready meal range called Discover the Taste.
The launch will be promoted with an £8 main, side and dessert for two offer on dishes including confit of duck in orange sauce (rsp: £5.99), slow-cooked beef bourguignon with smokey bacon (rsp: £5.99), pommes parisienne (rsp: £2.49), and lemon tiramisu (rsp: £2.99).
With 30 traditional British, European and Asian lines including mains for one, mains for two, side dishes and desserts, the range aims to capitalise on shoppers’ growing appetite for high-quality prepared meals.
“Fresh and own brand are two of the most critical growth sectors in convenience,” said sales director John Pattison. “The development of Discover the Taste further enhances our offer to help Budgens Retail Partners stand up to the competition, delivering standout quality and breadth of offer in the independent convenience sector.”
The new range went in-store last month, and follows the launch of the Budgens Made Easy semi-prepared lines in August. It will be refreshed to capitalise on seasonal occasions.
