Punjabi cooking sauce brand Rustic Indian has been rolled out to 120 Budgens stores.

The four-strong chilled range, which is vegetarian and gluten-free, comprises mild-spiced Shahi, cumin-infused Jeera, medium-seasoned Tharka and more intense Fiery Mirchi sauces, sold in 350g packs, with a 12-week shelf life.

Rustic Indian was founded by husband and wife team Vini and Bal Aujla, who saw a gap in the market for healthy sauces and left jobs in the City to launch the brand. “It was impossible to find anything resembling authentic, fresh Punjabi home cooking in restaurants or shops,” said Vini.
