Musgrave Retail Partners GB has denied there are problems with Budgens’ IT following complaints by customers of overcharging at a store in East Sussex.
Shoppers had claimed they were being regularly overcharged by as much as £10 for their goods at Jempsons in Rye, East Sussex.
The tills relied on computer data and updates supplied by Musgrave Retail Partners GB, joint owner of the store, Stephen Jempson told the local media.
However Musgrave said the problem had been caused by moving Jempsons’ IT system across to its own. “It was a one-off problem and is now sorted,” a spokeswoman said.
