Bulldog Skincare has unveiled a virtual skin analyser tool to help men build an effective cosmetics routine.
Developed in partnership with Revieve, a beauty & wellness technology provider, the new online tool uses AI to establish what products a user needs for his skin type.
To receive an in-depth skincare analysis, product recommendations and care tips, visitors to Bulldog’s UK website are required complete three steps. First is a questionnaire about skin type and concerns, which helps the AI learn more about the person’s needs and expectations of a skincare routine.
This is followed by sharing location, allowing the system to gather insight on the user’s local UV index, humidity and pollution levels, all of which affect skin condition.
As a final step, the user uploads a photo of his face, which is analysed by Revieve’s proprietary mobile skin diagnostics using more than 100 metrics.
“We have always believed that skincare shouldn’t be complicated, nor should finding the right products be a daunting task,” said Bulldog GM James Barnes. The new analyser made it “even easier for our consumers to discover skincare products that are just right for them and their skin”.
The launch of the AI tool marked “a significant step forward in giving more men globally access to knowledge about their skin and thus lower the barrier of entry to skincare”, added Sampo Parkkinen, Revieve founder & CEO.
It comes after Bulldog’s skincare lineup grew value 5% in grocery last year [NielsenIQ 52 w/e 10 September 2022] – markedly faster than the overall category, which was up 2.4%.
