Burts Chips has trebled the number of countries it exports to to 15 over the past year, boosting its turnover 90% to £6.2m.
India, Malaysia and Dubai are among the countries the premium crisp company has added to its export roster.
Its biggest success has been in Holland, said director Jonty White. "We are now in two of the biggest Dutch supermarket chains and have overtaken Kettle Chips by some margin," he said. "Dutch people like our colourful packaging and the texture of our chips."
White also revealed that Burts was introducing a limited edition range called Golden Mile this week.
The potatoes for the new range are sourced from a one-mile stretch of Cornish coastline known as the Golden Mile because of its unusually warm weather. The soil was exceptionally rich owing to the proximity of the sea and the local tradition of using seaweed as fertilizer, said White.
