The latest in the long line of weird and wonderful names used for Australian wine brands is Up a Gum Tree.
This is an own brand created for Vinoceros by McGuigan brothers of South East Australia. The name is the inspiration of Vinoceros md Nick Richards. The wines are now on test with a number of independents.
The range has been designed to create a point of difference and will retail between £3.29 and £4.49.
It features three single varietals, Verdelho, Chardonnay and Shiraz, and is backed by point of sale material.
Marketing manager Lynda Mellor said: "At this price point we find consumers are keen to experiment."
