Cadbury has launched what it says is the world’s most expensive chocolate bar to celebrate the relaunch of its limited edition Wispa Gold.
The one-off bar, which is available in Selfridges, costs a whopping £961.48 and is covered in edible gold leaf. Proceeds from the sale of the bar, which was delivered by Spandau Ballet member Tony Hadley, will go to the UK Lowe Syndrome Trust, of which Hadley is patron.
“Wispa Gold is a great product that so many fans want to see back on the shelf and the money is going to a really good cause,” said Hadley.
Wispa Gold will return to shelves in September following a campaign on social networking website Facebook, where more than 22,000 people joined a ‘Bring back Cadbury’s Wispa Gold’ group.
