Cadbury Schweppes' Mott's subsidiary is focusing on profitable niche brands with the acquisition of the North American ReaLemon and ReaLime superbrands.
Motts is to pay $128m (£90m) for the Eagle Family Foods brands, which last year had sales of $62m.
Cadbury Schweppes CEO John Sunderland said: "This acquisition supports Mott's strategy of focusing on profitable niche brands. It complements Mott's existing range of ingredient products and opens new distribution channels. Opportunities for value creation are significant."
ReaLemon and ReaLime are America's number one ambient lemon and lime juice brands with a 48% market share and awareness level of nearly 100%.
The sale to Cadbury Schweppes, which still requires regulatory approval, is due to be completed in early autumn. The deal includes global rights to the two brands.
