Cadbury Dairy Milk is set to roll out Fruitier & Nuttier, its first HFSS-compliant range of treats.
The four-strong lineup comprises Bars (4x30g), Trail Mix (3x35g), and Trail Mix share bags in Milk and Orange (100g).
Bars is a “blend of fruits, crispies, cocoa and crunchy nuts” with a layer of Dairy Milk chocolate, the brand said.
It is 24% date paste, 23% dried apricot pieces, 15% roasted hazelnuts and 11% almond paste. Each 30g portion provides 11g sugar.
Trail Mix, meanwhile, comprises cocoa-dusted fruit and nuts – such as almonds, raisins and dried cranberries – with milk chocolate or orange chocolate CDM Buttons.
All four products (rsp: £2.50) will roll out nationwide early next month.
They were designed to give consumers “more choice without compromising on taste”, said Cadbury.
Paola Cassinelli, marketing lead at Cadbury owner Mondelez, added: “We are extremely proud to be unveiling Cadbury Dairy Milk’s first non-HFSS range.”
There was “an ever-growing demand for health-conscious treats that still deliver on taste, and Fruitier & Nuttier’s unique offering will help retailers tap this”, she added.
The launch will be supported with digital, out-of-home and in-store activity.
It comes after confectionery rival Mars Wrigley unveiled its own HFSS-compliant chocolate range in June 2022. Triple Treats was inspired by the original Galaxy, Mars, Bounty and Snickers brands. Like Fruitier & Nuttier bars, they are sweetened by date paste.
