Caffè Nero customers will be able to order coffee, hot drinks and a selection of food to their door

The chain currently has 40 outlets open for takeaway only
Coffee chain Caffè Nero has partnered with Uber Eats to offer a delivery service for the first time in response to customer demand for out-of-home food and drink.
It is the latest foodservice operator to partner with a delivery app during the coronavirus crisis as lockdown begins to ease and businesses explore ways to begin trading again, with Costa, Pret, McDonald’s and KFC all also taking orders.
Caffè Nero customers will be able to order coffee, hot drinks and a selection of food to be delivered to their door from 40 stores by the end of May as a result of the exclusive partnership.
“Since we’ve opened some of our stores for takeaway, we’ve seen strong demand for our coffee,” said Caffè Nero UK CEO Will Stratton-Morris.
“We want to be able to help those unable to visit one of our open stores enjoy our coffee without compromising the premium quality. I believe the partnership with Uber Eats allows us to do that and will continue to as we open more stores.”
Toussaint Wattinne, general manager of Uber Eats in the UK, said: “Caffè Nero is one of the nation’s favourite coffee brands, and we’re delighted they have partnered with us to offer their premium-quality coffee and products to customers, available exclusively via the Uber Eats app.”
Caffè Nero, which operates from an 800-strong store estate in the UK, currently has 40 outlets open for takeaway only as lockdown restrictions remain in place. The open stores offer a limited menu of coffee and pastries.
Each store is offering free hot drinks to all NHS staff throughout May.
All staff working in these stores have requested to return to work, according to Caffè Nero.
