Production of Cafinesse, the chilled liquid coffee brand developed by Douwe Egberts, has been discontinued.
When the product was launched Douwe Egberts said the brand would "redefine the way consumers shop the coffee fixture". But a spokeswoman this week admitted sales figures were not hitting their targets in the UK.
Sold from the chiller and stored in a refrigerator, Cafinesse came in a PET bottle with a measuring cap producing an average of 40 cups. It retailed for £2.69 a bottle.
