Liverpool-based Cains brewery has invested £250,000 in technology to re-source a natural water supply.
All beers now brewed at the site are made with water that is sourced 30m below the brewery, just as they were more than a century ago until the practice ceased.
The brewery was originally built to take advantage of this natural water source, which founder Robert Cain used to guarantee his beer’s purity.
Current owners Ajmail and Sudarghara Dusanj decided to invest in restoring the original water source to mark the brand’s provenance. “This water allowed Robert Cain to build a reputation for his beers so it’s fantastic to be able to use it again,” said Sudarghara.
