Calbee UK has appointed Charlotte Midgley as head of HR.

In her most recent role as UK & Australia HR manager for packaging manufacturer Klöckner Pentaplast, Midgley was responsible for leading initiatives in both markets, giving her “valuable experience of global organisational needs”, according to Calbee.

Midgley, who has previously worked at Linpac Packaging and Symington’s, brings 17 years’ HR experience to the role at Calbee UK.

“I’ve joined Calbee at a really exciting time and am looking forward to contributing to the company’s continued growth plans,” said Midgley.

“I’m particularly enthusiastic about aligning our people strategy with these goals to ensure we foster a culture of innovation and engagement, as part of the wider global Calbee family.”

Calbee UK group MD Jon Wood said: “We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Charlotte to the team.

“Her experience in global business will be invaluable as we expand in the UK, working closely with our Calbee Group colleagues worldwide.”

Calbee UK in April revealed plans to invest £12m into expanding its Bradford crisps site, following a £3m investment in its Deeside facility in 2023.

It comes after the Seabrook Crisps owner saw turnover increase by 16.6% and operating profit rise by 59.2% in the year to 31 December 2023, according to its most recently filed accounts.
